South Padre Island Fishing reports

Monday, April 26th, 2010

Well the last week has been great. The rains quit, the fish were biting, and we’ve had a good time. Howard Nickols came down and fished with Lola. They managed to catch a limit of trout and reds.

Nathan Powers and his fishing buddy Robert caught a limit of trout but not any really good ones. Most were in the 18 to 20″ range. Two reds were also caught but the wind died for us that day and made drifting tough. The fist day of the lastĀ four trips we didn’t limit out on everything. Still catching them on Gulp, white..

The fishing has really picked up in the last week. limits of reds and trout are starting to show up now. Most are coming on live bait or cut bait. Some however are coming on artificial s. It’s just a matter of time before the big trout will be hitting top waters. Doug Stead caught a nice 29″ trout on top-water yesterday.

It’s time to get out there with em…..
